My experiences thus far in the sport of stand up paddleboarding has given me the fortune of meeting many such people, not only abroad on my surf travels, but here at home in Nova Scotia. Yesterday was a such a day...and as you can see from the pics, not the pristine warm and sunny day that you often see in the magazines...but the stoke was there in spades.

I have heard all the old cliches such as "age is just a number" and "young at heart", but it is only when I come across an experience that drives this point home that I deeply reflect upon these ideas...and my observations thus far is that it boils down to attitude and perspective. Yesterday I had the privilege of teaching this dynamic father/daughter duo the intricacies of SUP'ing, but as I reflect upon this day I have to come to learn that I was the student. Thank you for reminding me once again about the importance of attitude and perspective, that age is irrelevant, that the father/daughter relationship is a gift to cherish, and that 67 years of age is a perfect time to learn to SUP.
